Welcome to the start of my journey.
Most of my life has been a struggle with weight. I don't like to talk about it, and I've pretty much lived in denial until I couldn't deny it anymore.
How did I know it's time to change?
When I looked in the mirror and started to cry.
When someone points a camera at me and I hide.
When I see photos of myself and don't recognize that person anymore.
When I went to a doctor who told me my blood pressure was too high and I needed to lose weight. Now.
This is someone I never want to see again. This is my starting point. This was taken on April 13, 2013. As of June 19th, I was at 218 pounds.
Short Term Goals
Lose 20 pounds by my birthday
Short term milestones: 198, 175, 150, 125
Lower my blood pressure to the point where medication won't be required
Long Term Goals
Lose 93 total pounds to reach a goal weight of 125.
Maintain a healthy blood pressure
Lower my cholesterol
Change my lifestyle
I know I can't do this alone. I have Yanni, the love of my life cheering me on, supporting me, eating all the bad stuff in the house so we can fill it with healthy stuff.
I have a medical team of a PCP and Nutritionist. And I hope to join an exclusive women's fitness center in Central Square.
This has been my New Year's Resolution for the past decade. It's time I finally do something about it.
